The shores of Reston's Lake Thoreau host just under 600 homes. They range from Condos to Townhomes, Patio Homes and Single Family Homes. Prices for these lakefront community homes start in the High-$300's on up through $1.5 Million.
This man made lake was built in 1971. It has a surface
area of about 40 acres, a maximum depth of about 38 feet and holds about 265
million gallons.

Lake Thoreau hosts almost a dozen Reston neighborhoods.
Condos are located in the Harbor Point community near the South Lakes Shopping
Center. Townhomes are located South and North of the lake in the
Lakewinds, Walden, Chadds Ford, Westcove, Harbor Point and Winterport
Clusters. Single Family Homes are located on the Western end and North
side of Lake Thoreau.
